Fire Safety Day at Brookhaven Regeneration Camp

On July 15 the Mastic Fire Department visited Brookhaven Town’s ReGeneration Camp at Shirley Airport Park. The children attending, ranging in age from five to twelve years old, learned valuable lessons about fire safety. Firefighters gave the children toy fire helmets, coloring book packets highlighting fire safety and showed them how their firetruck is used to fight fires. Supervisor Romaine who was onsite to welcome members of the Mastic FD said, “I want to thank the firefighters from the Mastic Fire Department for providing campers with important information about fire safety. These firefighters are true heroes in our local community who remain ever ready to answer the call and keep us safe.” For more information about ReGeneration Camp or any of the Town of Brookhaven’s Youth Bureau Programs, please visit brookhavenny.gov or call 631-451-8011.
