We don't mean to rain on your summer parade but with only a few precious weeks remaining, the back to school swing is already in motion. Patchogue- Medford School District released the 2019-20 school calendar and school is back in session on September 5th. Below is the list of important dates including conferences, national holidays, school district closings and more. Be sure to mark your calendars and put this list on your family board, then get back to enjoying what is left of our summer!
Sept. 5: First day for students
Sept. 30: Rosh Hashanah (School are Closed)
Oct. 1: Rosh Hashanah (Schools are Closed)
Oct. 9: Yom Kippur (Schools are Closed)
Oct. 14: Columbus Day (Schools are Closed)
Nov. 5: Superintendent's Conference Day (No school for students, staff reports)
Nov. 11: Veterans' Day (Schools are Closed)
Nov. 27-29: Thanksgiving Recess (Schools are Closed)
Dec. 9: Parent teacher conferences (Half day for elementary students, full day for secondary students)
Dec. 10: Parent teacher conferences for high school (No school for all students)
Dec. 23-Jan. 1: Holiday recess (Schools are Closed)
Jan. 20: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Schools are Closed)
Feb. 17-21: Winter recess (Schools are Closed)
April 6-13: Spring recess (Schools are Closed)
May 25: Memorial Day (Schools are Closed)
June 26: Last day of school
Contingencies for Snow Days or Closings Due to Weather Emergencies:
If one or fewer days is lost due to weather or other emergencies, no school May 21 and May 26.
If two days are lost due to weather or other emergencies, school is open May 21 and closed May 26.
If three days are lost due to weather or other emergencies, school is open May 21 and May 26.
If four or more days are lost due to weather or other emergencies, school will be open April 6.
