Pooch Pass Fees Waived for Town Dog Parks

Councilman Loguercio, Councilman LaValle and Town Board Waive Pooch Pass Fees for Town Dog Parks The Brookhaven Town Board recently adopted a resolution co-sponsored by Councilman Michael Loguercio (left) and Councilman Kevin LaValle (right) to waive the yearly “Pooch Pass” fees. The Pooch Pass allows residents and their dogs access to the Town’s two dog parks located in Middle Island and Selden. Although the fees will be waived, a Pooch Pass is still required in order to use the dog parks. Pooch Pass fees are waived for the initial pass only. If a pass is misplaced, the cost of a replacement pass must be paid by the resident. Councilman Loguercio said, “I am very happy that Councilman LaValle and I can continue to waive the fee again this year for our residents. Our dog parks are very popular and used frequently.  I still want to encourage everyone to comply with the rules and make sure that their dogs are licensed and up to date with their vaccinations, this way all our fur friends are safe.” Councilman LaValle said, “By waiving the fees again this year, I expect to see more families enjoying the Selden Dog Park with their pets. I am committed to provide a safe haven with the best amenities for dogs and people alike, and we will continue to make upgrades to the park as needed.” The Town’s Middle Island Dog Park is located at 1075 Middle Country Road (Route 25), just east of the former K-Mart site and the Selden Dog Park is located on Boyle Road, between Corvair Lane and Carston Street.
