Farmingville, NY – At the March 27 Town Board Meeting, Supervisor Ed Romaine (back row, center) and the Town Board met with members of the Greek-American community to recognize Greek Independence Day (March 25) in the Town of Brookhaven. During the visit, the Supervisor presented a proclamation to Rev. Demitrios N. Calogredes (center), Protopresbyter from the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption in Port Jefferson. Greek Independence Day is celebrated annually in Greece, commemorating the start of the War of Greek Independence in 1821.
