Weekly Farmers Market at Town Hall Now Every Thursday!

Town of Brookhaven and LI Farm Bureau Open the Weekly Farmers Market at Town Hall  Farmingville, NY – Supervisor Ed Romaine is pleased to announce the weekly Farmers Market at Brookhaven Town Hall in Farmingville is open every Thursday afternoon, beginning now through October. This weekly NYS Agriculture & Markets sanctioned Farmers Market was established by the Town of Brookhaven in 2018 to encourage residents to buy Long Island fruits and vegetables and bring attention to the Town’s many farms and the produce grown right in the consumer’s backyard. In addition to selling fresh produce, the market will promote wine, flowers, seafood and other Long Island products and encourage people to visit farms and support their local growers. The weekly Farmers Market will be open every Thursday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and will run throughout the fall season. Supervisor Romaine said, “I am happy that the Town’s Farmers Market is open again this year, and I thank the Long Island Farm Bureau, the members of the Town’s Agricultural Advisory Board, and the farmers who make fresh produce easily available to our residents. I encourage everyone to buy from local farmers and eat healthy.” Those who wish to participate as a vendor can register with the Brookhaven Town Law Department by visiting BrookhavenNY.gov/Vendor or calling 631-451-6630 or 631-451-6500 to obtain the necessary forms and requirements.  There is no charge to participate as a vendor, however, you will need to provide a Certificate of Insurance form which your insurance broker can complete for you.  If you are a winery and wish to participate, you will also need to submit Form 115W – Wine Tasting Function Permit.  If you are a craft beverage vendor, you will need to submit a copy of your SLA Marketing Permit along with a valid NYS Sales Tax Certificate.
