Bellport Village hosted a trio of holiday events yesterday, the first day of December 2018! Starting off the day was a Breakfast With Santa event at the Community Center. Mayor Ray Fell helped serve breakfast while dancers from the Brookhaven School of Dance entertained attendees with some festive dance numbers. But once Santa himself appeared, there was nothing but the shrieks of excited (and terrified!) children waiting to tell him their Christmas wishes. Throughout the day there were several shopping boutiques sponsored by local churches (Bellport United Methodist, Christ Church, South Haven Presbyterian) as well as the Bellport-Brookhaven Historical Society.
The action continued into the evening with the annual Bellport Holiday Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting, with spectators lined up along South Country and Station roads to watch the procession. Afterwards, most followed to the village green, where there was hot chocolate, Christmas carolers, and of course pictures with Santa awaiting them. Check our our pictures below for some highlights from the day.
