Councilman LaValle Co-Sponsors the Stony Brook Cancer Center Mobile Mammography Van at Town Hall
No-cost mammograms offered on Friday, January 18
Farmingville, NY- On Friday, January 18, the Stony Brook Cancer Center Mobile Mammography Van will make a special visit to Brookhaven Town Hall to provide breast cancer screenings. This service, co-sponsored by Councilman Kevin LaValle, is provided at no cost to the patient, however, appointments are required. Brookhaven Town Hall is located at One Independence Hill in Farmingville. This project is supported with funds from Health Research Inc. and the New York Department of Health. Eligibility:- Female, 40 years and older
- Last mammogram (if any) more than 366 days ago
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding
- Does not have implants or breast issues
- Has never been diagnosed with breast cancer
- Has had an office visit with a gynecologist, primary care physician or internist within the past year who is willing to accept the results of the screening
- Individuals who do not have health insurance will be processed through the Cancer Services Program of New York, if eligible
- The patient’s insurance company will be billed accordingly to federal and NYS guidelines
