Supervisor Romaine Encourages Shoppers to Support Small Business Saturday on November 24th

Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine is asking that Brookhaven residents participate in Small Business Saturday on November 24 by shopping at local small businesses across Brookhaven Town. The Chambers of Commerce are joining together to support this initiative which was founded in 2010 by American Express in partnership with the non-profit National Trust for Historic Preservation, Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, and Roslindale Village Main Street.   It is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Many of the local businesses in Brookhaven Town are having special sales and promotions to celebrate the event. Supervisor Ed Romaine said, “Small, local businesses are the backbone of our economy in Brookhaven Town and throughout the country. I encourage everyone to take a break from online shopping, the big boxes and the mall to shop in the stores that are owned by your neighbors. It’s important that we support these businesses that serve our community and create thousands of jobs for our residents.” Join Patchogue Today this Saturday as We Support our local Small Businesses!
